My Personal Trainer: The Elvie Trainer
If you found yourself here then I am sure it’s because you might have had the same issues I had before. I'm opening up that conversation of some of the results of giving birth. Thanks to Elvie for giving me the courage to talk about this openly. Embarassing for me to talk about but I HAVE to share this with you new mama's! Giving birth is the easy part. Everything you get after is what's really hard. I can't list it all because there's too much but the whole post natal recovery is difficult. I am excited to share with you what the Elvie Team has created for us. Even though the story can be embarrassing for me, I want to share what has helped me overcome this. Now, let’s back track from how it all started.
On November 2016, I was on my last trimester with my first son. I had to wear a pad because I would have “accidents” when I would pee and sneeze. Since he was my first, my body was traumatized by the birth. I thought my bladder would completely be back to normal after the five weeks of healing. I thought wrong. I mean, it was better than how it was right after giving birth. However, I had to keep wearing a pad for the “just in case” accidents.
On September 2018, I found out I was pregnant with my second son. With this pregnancy, I was already unable to control my bladder at the first trimester. For the whole eight to nine months of my pregnancy, I would always have an accident. At one point at the end of my pregnancy, I was wearing adult diapers because I was sick for a whole month and I would sneeze and cough constantly. I knew it was not going to get any better.
I took a post-natal class and was told to do Kegel Exercises to help overcome my bladder issues. I had no idea what they were. I gave them a try but was never to sure if I was doing them correctly. I found that approximately 30% of women don’t do the kegel exercises correctly. This is where the Elvie Trainer has changed the game.
